NIC Modifications

This page describes some changes to the NIC (New Internet Computer) we've done here at UNH. We've looking at using these systems in public computer labs, and some changes needed to be made for them to meet our needs.

• Netbooting without DHCP/RARP/bootp - So we can make changes to the NIC distribution without burning a hundred thousand CDs
• Glorified VT - To provide telnet and netscape to users wihtout authentication
• xterminal/xdmcp - To act as an xterminal, logging into a seperate server

Other stuff we've done (more info to come)

• Printing to WindowsNT/2000 lpr queues
